What is the Great Queensland Quest?
The Great Queensland Quest is a virtual challenge taking participants on exciting journeys across the State as they walk or run their chosen distance.
Each Quest reaches the furthest corners of PCYC Queensland’s presence across Queensland, showcasing the stories of our clubs, the communities in which we work and the young people who have changed their stories with our support.
When is it held?
The Great Queensland Quest is held from 1st – 30th September.

Is there a registration fee to take part?
No – the Great Queensland Quest is a free virtual event.
What level of fitness is required to take part?
By choosing your Quest, you choose the distance you would like to complete & whether you’d like to run or walk. Whether you get your kilometres done in the comfort of your own home, at the Gym or by walking outside – you can be any fitness level to take part.
How do I log my activity?
Your profile page includes your personal distance tally so you can track your progress on your chosen Quest, whilst virtually enjoying the sights through the eyes of PCYC Queensland!
You can log your kilometers in the following ways:
1. Log your kilometers manually
Remember, you can manually add your kilometres to the tally in your My Fitness Activity tab of your profile after registering. This is a great option if you’re using a pedometer or a different method of tracking your distances.
Follow these steps to manually add your KMs:
- Log in to your account and select ‘My Fitness Activity’
- Under ‘Add activity’, enter the date and distance
- The number of KMs will now appear on your fundraising page!
2. Log your kilometres via a Fitness App
If you track your workouts with Fitbit, MapMyFitness or Strava your distances will automatically add to your tally.
Follow these steps to track your KMs automatically:
- Download the Fitbit, Strava or MapMyFitness app and set up your account
- Log in to your Great Queensland Quest account within your fundraising page
- Under the heading ‘Connect your preferred Fitness app’, click your chosen app.
- Follow the prompts to connect your account
- When you next work out, select ‘start your workout’ in the app on your phone. Once you end your workout, save your workout and your distance will be published to the tally on your page the following day.
If you have synced your app already but it is not working, please log in and re-connect it.
When using Fitbit, you must ‘start’ an activity and save it. Your daily steps will not automatically add to your page. If you are having issues, try syncing through BOTH your Fitbit and the Fitbit app on your smartphone.
When using MapMyFitness, you must ‘start’ your workout, ‘stop’ your workout and then ‘SAVE’ your workout.
Your tally will be updated each day with the previous day’s distances.
